CAHS Prevention Coordinator Ricki Davis-Robinson, PSIT, visited Sweet Home Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, May 11, for a special “Recovery Sundays” event, held under the leadership of Pastor Riley Harbor III.
The visit was arranged by SHBC member and fellow CAHS employee Davelle Lee. Davis-Robinson addressed 70 attendees about the opioid epidemic and the importance of faith-based organizations in helping curb the misuse of opioids.
Davis-Robinson and Lee distributed several copies of CAHS’ Opioid Prevention Toolkit that provides information about the disease of addiction, opioid misuse prevention, and addiction recovery. They also provided about 20 free kits of Narcan, the medication that reverses the deadly effects of overdoses from opioids.
