In honor of Red Ribbon Week, which occurs every year between Oct. 23 and 31, CAHS’ Prevention Team partnered with O’Brien House to educate middle school students about the importance of being drug free and to encourage them to live healthy lifestyles.
On Oct. 29, CAHS Prevention Monitor Supervisor, Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, visited with the students to talk about the history of Red Ribbon Week and its importance in raising awareness among youth about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs.

Yancy and Jones engaged the students with a Red Ribbon Week Fun Fact Relay Game to test their knowledge and distributed Drug Free Crossword Puzzles in keeping with this year’s theme, “Life Is A Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free.” At the conclusion of the activities, the students made drug-free pacts and promised to hold each other accountable to live drug free.
