Adult Virtual Clinic offers therapy where you are

Capital Area Human Services introduces a new Adult Virtual Clinic offering teletherapy to individuals in need of behavioral health counseling. If time constraints, family responsibilities, or lack of transportation hinder your coming to one of Capital Area Human Service’s clinics, call 225-663-6221 or email CAHSD.adultvirtual@la.gov to arrange an appointment.

QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

Q: How often are sessions and how long does each session last?
A: Sessions can be weekly, biweekly, monthly or as needed and last 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

Q: How are costs handled?
A: Teletherapy and in-person appointments are conducted at the same rate and payer benefits. Copayments or coinsurance apply once your deductible is met. No cost or sliding scale services are available for uninsured clients that meet policy guidelines.

Q: How is it different from in-person therapy?
A: Teletherapy provides convenience and flexibility.

Q: What do I need to use this service?
A: You will need a smartphone or laptop, Wi-Fi or cellular data and a quiet place to attend the session.

Q: Who is an appropriate candidate for teletherapy?
A: This service helps those who cannot attend an in-person appointment.
