
CAHS Prevention Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor, Tamara Jones, PSIT, visited with attendees of the Gardere Initiative’s “Back to School Extravaganza,” held Aug. 2 at BREC’s Hartley/Vey Park in Baton Rouge.
Yancy and Jones shared information (printed in English and Spanish) about the dangers of vaping, opioids, fentanyl, and synthetic drugs. They also distributed informational materials about bullying and coping skills for youth.
More than 300 adults and children attended the event where they enjoyed music and food, played games, and received supplies, backpacks and other essentials needed for the new school year.
