On Aug. 8, the CAHS Prevention and Wellness Team hosted the Driving Into Recovery: “Fueling Futures for Back-to-School Success” event, held at Williams & Lee Park in Port Allen.
The drive-through community event provided families with access to free health and wellness resources, substance misuse prevention and recovery information, overdose reversal medication Narcan, and back-to-school supplies. The event was free and open to the public.
Representing CAHS were Wellness and Prevention Director Bridget Lewis, MS-LPP; Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP; Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT; and Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg, PSIT.
The CAHS Prevention and Wellness Team was proud to connect with families, share valuable prevention and recovery resources, and help support children and families as they prepare for a successful school year. Events like Driving Into Recovery demonstrate the importance of bringing resources directly to the community to create safe, supportive spaces where individuals and families can access help without judgment.
