CAHS Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg, PSIT, attended the Oct. 14 Faith & Blue Night, hosted by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office at St. Isidore Catholic Church on Thomas Road in Baton Rouge.
The event brought together law enforcement, faith leaders, and community members for an evening focused on building stronger relationships and promoting unity within the community.
Richbourg informed attendees about CAHS’ various services in the areas of mental health, addiction recovery services, developmental disabilities services, and prevention. She shared information about medication safety and the dangers of opioids and fentanyl, vaping, alcohol, and tobacco use. She also offered free kits of Narcan, the life-saving medication that reverses the deadly effects of overdoses from opioids.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of family-friendly activities, including games for children, food, and opportunities for conversations with local deputies. The event aimed to break down barriers, encourage open dialogue, and strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the residents they serve.
Faith & Blue events are part of a national initiative that highlights how faith-based organizations and law enforcement can work together to improve safety and understanding in neighborhoods. The collaboration between the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office and St. Isidore was designed to exemplify the spirit of community partnership, showcasing the importance of trust, respect, and shared values.
