“Driving Into Recovery,” Port Allen

On the morning of May 28 at Williams & Lee Park in Port Allen, the CAHS Prevention Team held its fourth “Driving Into Recovery” event in partnership with the City of Port Allen, One West Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge Parks and Recreation, and other generous supporters.

More than 120 people drove through, receiving information about substance misuse, prevention, and recovery. Attendees also were offered COVID and flu vaccines, food boxes, hot lunches, and other resources from community partners. CAHS was also able to distribute 53 kits of Narcan, the opioid overdose-reversal medication.
