Students at Dorseyville Elementary in White Castle were among 173 youth who participated in CAHS’ School Based Behavioral Health Summer Enrichment Program, held June 2 – July 30, at eight schools in five Baton Rouge-area parishes.
The program, designed to help CAHS clients between school years, included exciting team-building activities designed to strengthen communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Among the highlights were the lively “Musical Art” activity and an energetic water balloon toss, both of which encouraged students to work together, think creatively, and have fun. Students also had the opportunity to make their own homemade Play-Doh, which provided a hands-on experience for practicing key social skills such as following directions, sharing, and taking turns.
The program was deemed a wonderful success at building teamwork, fostering positive relationships, and empowering students to engage in cooperative problem-solving — all while having fun.
