Representatives of CAHS’ Prevention Team participated in the inaugural WBR Community Resource Fair Expo, held Nov. 14 at the Port Allen Community Center.
The event, hosted by the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, provided stakeholders with information about community resources in the areas of social services, mental health, education and employment.
CAHS’ Director of Prevention and Wellness Bridget Lewis, MS-LPP, and Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, visited with attendees about CAHS’ services and prevention information about youth suicide, binge drinking, electronic cigarettes, and vaping.
Several attendees shared personal testimonies about their experiences with drugs and addiction recovery. One grandparent was grateful to know more about the national mental health hotline, 9-8-8, after her teenage grandchild contemplated suicide over a broken relationship.
