Capital Area Human Services’ staff joined the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and its partners on Oct. 29 for National Drug Take Back Day at the Baton Rouge Police Department and Woman’s Hospital. CAHS staff distributed “Be a Hero, Get to Zero” medication safety campaign information. Officials reported that 1,250 pounds of outdated or unused prescription drugs were collected. Take Back Day will be held again in April 2023. Meanwhile, unused medications can be taken to local pharmacies for proper disposal.
