CAHS’ Prevention Team participated in the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s “Live Well” health screening event, held May 17 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
Attendees were offered screenings for breast, prostate, colorectal, and skin cancers in a festive atmosphere that included food, music and fun for families. In addition to CAHS, vendors included the Louisiana Department of Health, Woman’s Hospital, Baton Rouge General Regional Medical Center, Aetna Better Health, and the Southern University Ag Center.
CAHS Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, provided information about CAHS’ various services and talked about the dangers of alcohol, fentanyl, and other drugs.
