CAHS staff members hosted Narcan trainings on Feb. 12 and March 12 for employees and the public where participants earned Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) to further their professional development.
The trainings, held at the CAHS Administration Building on Coursey Blvd. in Baton Rouge, equipped attendees with the practical skills needed to recognize opioid misuse and to respond effectively to opioid overdoses.
The participants also received free kits of Narcan, the opioid overdose reversal medication.
Attendees asked thoughtful questions and participated in the discussions about a variety of topics, including Good Samaritan laws, post-overdose-reversal care, strategies for harm reduction, and treatment services.
Special thanks to these CAHS professionals who conducted the trainings: Social Service Counselor Rosalyn Davis, PLPC, CCGC, CAC; and Prevention Coordinators Ricki Davis Robinson, PSIT, and Alicia Richbourg, PSIT.
