CAHS Prevention Coordinator Dawn Collins, JD; Social Service Counselor Rosalyn Davis, CAC; and Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg provided training about opioids and opioid overdose reversal for the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office on April 12.
The CAHS team trained about 240 front-line staff and deputies in what has become an annual training for the sheriff’s office.
The CAHS trainers also distributed fentanyl test strips and Narcan spray that reverses the effects of opioid overdoses. The deputies can use those items when they respond to calls involving opioid drug misuse.
