CAHS distributed education resources and medication safety tools to more than 200 school nurses, April 19-20, at the Louisiana School Nurses Organization conference in New Orleans.
Educational resources included laminated medication record charts with dry-erase pens, brochures about opioids, prescription drugs, krokodil, and talking to kids about substance misuse.
At the request of several nurses, CAHS plans to give Narcan training at various schools in the region. Narcan is the overdose reversal agent used to prevent deaths from opioids.
