Ascension Parish students enjoyed an evening, Nov. 29, of education, games, and socializing, as CAHS joined area support agencies for the inaugural Ascension Parish Student Well-being night at Lowery Middle School in Donaldsonville.
Teens, parents, and faculty members participated in the event that focused on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention.
CAHS treated teens to interactive activities and giveaways while providing information about CAHS’ “Escape the Vape” campaign, which educates students and families about the harmful effects and misconceptions of vaping. Information regarding underage drinking and suicide prevention was also distributed.
“This anti-vaping campaign is much needed,” said one faculty member who attended the event. “We are seeing students as young as nine years of age bringing vapes to school.”
Special thanks to CAHS Prevention and Wellness Director Bridget Lewis, MS-LPP, and Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg for staffing the event.
