CAHS’ Prevention and Wellness team joined forces with Face to Face Enrichment to participate in the Youth and Family Empowerment Summit, held July 20 at the Baton Rouge Community College Magnolia Theater.
The event attracted 300 attendees and featured breakout sessions, interactive activities, door prizes, motivational speakers and free school supplies. The keynote speaker was Greg Tillery, owner and founder of We Dat’s Restaurant.
CAHS staff provided information about bullying, suicide prevention, the dangers of vaping, fentanyl, and other drugs.
The information about vaping was particularly helpful to one attendee who said, “I can’t wait to share this information with my brother. He has a real problem, so I hope this helps.”
