The World Shakers Church International hosted its annual Community Health & Wellness Fair and Back 2 School Bash & Giveaway on July 25 at its Baton Rouge campus, and members of CAHS’ prevention team joined in welcoming community members for a day of promoting health, wellness, education, and back-to-school readiness.
The event featured a variety of health screenings, wellness services, educational resources, and information from local organizations committed to improving the health and well-being of the community. Families also enjoyed games, activities, music, refreshments, giveaways, and free school supplies for students ranging from kindergarten through college.
CAHS Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, distributed school supplies to students and provided information to families about coping skills, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and the dangers of fentanyl, xylazine, binge drinking, video games, gambling, and social media addiction.
The event included a variety of community organizations, healthcare providers, and local partners, such as ICARE, Baton Rouge General Medical Center, and the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA).
