CAHS’ Prevention Team participated in the WBR Community Health Screening & Resource Fair, held July 15 at the West Baton Rouge Community Center in Port Allen.

Attendees were provided health, financial, employment, education and social service resources. The event offered a kids’ zone as well as screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and certain cancers.
In addition to CAHS, more than 40 vendors participated, including the Louisiana Office of Public Health, Port Allen Pharmacy, Entergy Solutions, Cintas, and Remington College.
CAHS Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, provided information about CAHS’ various services, and talked about the dangers of alcohol, fentanyl, and prescription drug misuse. The pair also helped attendees understand how to help loved ones with mental illness.
