West Feliciana Hospital and the LSU AgCenter presented the “Together in Solitude” Health and Safety Resource Fair on April 29 in Solitude, La., near St. Francisville.
An estimated 300 attendees enjoyed a day of fun and education that included health screenings and resources, food, door prizes, giveaways, and live entertainment. Transportation was provided throughout the community by the West Feliciana Council on Aging.
CAHS’ Prevention Team attended the event and provided educational materials that included the “Be an Up Stander: Stand up to Bullying” anti-bullying campaign and the “YOU GOT THIS” coping skills campaign. The team also provided information about the dangers of underage drinking.
“I’m going to have a good, long talk with my son about underage drinking,” one attendee said. “His prom is next week, and this campaign couldn’t have come at a better time.”
