Members of the CAHS “Recovery Sundays” team visited New Canaan Baptist Church, 2160 Highland Rd., Baton Rouge, on April 13, to provide valuable information and resources to help congregants and their families avoid issues related to opioids and other drugs.
Prevention Coordinators Alicia Richbourg, PSIT, and Ricki Davis Robinson, PSIT, shared information about CAHS’ Opioid Epidemic Toolkit, created specifically to help faith leaders and members of faith-based organizations avoid the dangers of opioids.
The 20-page toolkit, which is available online here, gives readers information about prevention, addiction recovery services, and harm reduction strategies.
CAHS’ Recovery Sundays initiative helps raise awareness about the vital role churches and faith-based organizations play in helping individuals and families avoid issues or to get the help they need if they are struggling with substance misuse.
