Governor Jeff Landry has proclaimed April as Alcohol Awareness Month, joining in the national effort to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol misuse.
According to the Governor’s proclamation, 736 people were killed or seriously injured in Louisiana in 2023 because of alcohol-related crashes. He also noted that 26% of Louisiana’s traffic fatalities in 2023 involved at least one driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08% or higher.
