Members of CAHS’ Prevention and Wellness team participated in the Philadelphia Christian Ministries Health Fair and Fall Fest, held Oct. 24 at the church on Hanks Drive in Baton Rouge.
The event attracted about 40 attendees who participated in discussions about health and wellness and who heard a panel of medical professionals talk about podiatry, prostate health, and heart health.
Guest speakers included LaShona Mosby of Families with a Broken Heart, who addressed grief and trauma, and Brittany Jean, NP, who discussed the importance of immunizations and preventive healthcare.
CAHS staff distributed free kits of life-saving Narcan for opioid overdoses and shared information about CAHS’ Faith-Based Toolkit that educates individuals and families about opioid misuse.
