CAHS Prevention and Wellness Services Director Bridget Lewis, MS-LPP, and Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, attended the inaugural Park Forest Middle School youth leadership event, held Sept. 19, in observance of Suicide Prevention Week.
During lunch periods for 6th, 7th and 8th grades, students were informed of the various services offered by CAHS, including mental health treatment, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders.
Lewis and Yancy also engaged the students in a dialogue about the 988 suicide prevention hotline and CAHS’ “Choose Kindness” anti-bullying campaign.
Before returning to class, students had the opportunity to visit the CAHS vendor table to speak with Lewis and Yancy and to receive promotional items and additional resources about CAHS services, suicide prevention, bullying prevention, coping skills, and more.
Special thanks to Sharon Leray, PhD, Park Forest School Counselor, for inviting CAHS to attend this special event.
