The CAHS Prevention Team and other agency staff visited New Roads on July 23, hosting its “Driving Into Recovery” event with city officials and other supporters at the William H. Scott Civic Center.
Nearly 140 people drove through the event, receiving information about substance misuse, prevention, and recovery. Attendees were offered food boxes, hot lunches, COVID at-home tests, children’s diapers, school supplies, and other resources from community partners. Also, 50 kits of Narcan, the opioid overdose-reversal medication, were distributed.
