CAHS representatives conducted a training Feb. 18 about the proper use and administration of Narcan for the staff of the East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority.
CAHS Prevention Specialist Ricki Robinson Davis, PSIT, and Social Service Counselor Rosalyn Davis, PLPC, CCGC, CAC, provided information and hands-on instruction for 30 staff members about how to identify the symptoms of an opioid overdose and how to administer life-saving Narcan.
The housing authority staff who attended represented all 13 of the authority’s sites, thereby ensuring staff training for each site. The CAHS staff also distributed 13 free cases of Narcan (156 individual kits) so that every housing authority site would be equipped in case of emergency situations.
