Maxwell presents at state conference

CAHS School Based Behavioral Health Program therapist Teresa Maxwell, LCSW, was invited to present at the 2025 Louisiana School Social Work Association Conference, held Oct. 22 at the East Baton Rouge Parish River Center Library. Maxwell’s presentation, “Trauma Informed Practice and Mindful Strategies,” focused on trauma-informed care, the prevalence of trauma in the region, and how trauma affects children and their behaviors. Maxwell informed attendees about how mindfulness helps with behavior management and how to incorporate the practice into the school day. She also guided participants through a meditation to illustrate the effectiveness of relaxation techniques.
