Members of the CAHS Prevention Team participated in Iberville Parish Government’s Behavioral Health Walk/Run & Resource Fair held Oct. 10 at Belleview Park in Plaquemine to recognize World Mental Health Day.
The event brought together community members and more than 25 vendors to promote mental health awareness, encourage wellness, and connect individuals and families with valuable community resources.
CAHS Program Monitor Tamara Jones, MA-LPP, and Prevention Coordinator Ricki Davis Robinson, PSIT, provided information about CAHS’ services and shared educational information about the dangers of binge drinking and vaping. They also emphasized the importance of prevention, healthy decision-making, and substance use awareness.
Jones and Robinson also distributed kits of Narcan (naloxone) and talked about its importance in responding to opioid overdoses and helping save lives.
