September was National Recovery Month, and CAHS traveled to New Roads on Sept. 28 with its “Driving Into Recovery” initiative, delivering resources and information about addiction recovery to a constant stream of individuals and families who drove through the event.
Driving Into Recovery is designed to inform individuals about addiction recovery services, to reduce the stigma around Substance Use Disorder, and to unite families and communities in a spirit of healing.
CAHS’ Prevention Team was in full force, partnering with New Roads Mayor Theron Smith, providing food boxes, children’s diapers, kits of Narcan (opioid overdose reversal medication), and information about mental and physical health, substance misuse, prevention, and addiction recovery.
