CAHS’ Prevention Team participated in the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s 5th Annual Crimson River Run 5k/10k Race Walk, held March 7th at Mumford Stadium on the campus of Southern University.
The USA Track & Field (USATF)-certified race benefited several local charities and organizations. The race, designed with everyone in mind, included a “Dear Dash,” a brisk 20-yard walk to the race’s starting line, exclusively for participants aged 60 years and older.
After the race, attendees visited the Community Health and Economic Summit, which featured health screenings, and other local small business and healthcare vendors including CAHS.
Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, provided information about CAHS’ services, alcohol and substance misuse, the dangers of fentanyl, and the effects of social media on mental health.
