CAHS’ School Based Summer Enrichment Program is underway with 149 children — all of whom are CAHS clients — attending the camps that are being held in eight schools in five area parishes.
The camps began June 1 and will continue through July 9 at Jackson Elementary, Capitol Elementary, Cohn Elementary, Central Primary, Magnolia Woods Elementary, Highland Elementary, Gonzales Primary, and Dorseyville Elementary schools.
The program offers the children tons of fun with arts and crafts, and recreation activities while also offering behavioral help and counseling sessions with therapists.
The clients also read books and stories and participate in exercises that help them learn how to manage stress and their emotions.
