CAHS’ Prevention Team members participated in a resource fair, held Feb. 26 at the East Baton Rouge Main Library, for active military members, veterans, and their families.
The Service Members, Veterans and their Families Initiative hosted the fair to foster health and education for the community. Other organizations and agencies that participated in the event were the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, Life Source Hospice, Volunteers of America, and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
CAHS Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, visited with attendees about CAHS’ various services and distributed information about suicide prevention, and the dangers of opioids and alcohol abuse. One attendee was especially thankful for information about problem gambling that she pledged to share with her family and friends.
