Capital Area Human Services’ Prevention Team participated in the National Drug Take Back Day event, hosted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on Oct. 26 at the Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters on Airline Hwy.
The CAHS team distributed the “Be a Hero, Get to Zero” campaign materials and information about medication safety to attendees who drove through the event to dispose of their unused and expired prescription medications.
The DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day is held every April and October to provide individuals and families the opportunity to dispose of medications safely.
