CAHS Social Services Counselor Rosalyn Davis, PLPC, CCGC, CAC, along with Prevention Coordinators Alicia Richbourg, PSIT, and Ricki Davis Robinson, PSIT, participated in the Hope Resuscitated presentation and community discussion, held Aug. 30 at the main branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library.
The CAHS team provided a demonstration about the proper administration of Narcan, the medication that reverses the deadly effects of overdoses from opioids. They also answered questions about opioids and the signs of overdose.
The event featured a presentation by Hope Resuscitated’s founder Leila Ramos, who talked about the importance of education, awareness, and community support for prevention and recovery. The organization works to educate teens about the dangers of opioids in an effort to prevent misuse and overdoses.
