Members of CAHS’ Wellness and Prevention Team participated in the “Bags 2 School: The Ultimate School Supply Giveaway” event, held July 11 at The Inspiration Center on Winbourne Ave.
The event, sponsored by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Aetna Better Health of Louisiana, attracted about 500 attendees and provided back-to-school supplies and information to help children and families.
Representing CAHS were Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, and Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg, PSIT. The CAHS staff provided valuable information about the agency’s behavioral health, prevention, and wellness services.
The CAHS team members also distributed overdose prevention information and kits of Narcan, the medication that reverses the deadly effects of overdoses from opioids.
