Members of Capital Area Human Services’ Prevention Team attended the Behavioral Health Symposium 2024, held Dec. 11 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on the campus of Louisiana State University.
The symposium offered a variety of informative sessions that were focused on erasing the stigma of mental illness and building personal resilience to withstand daily challenges. CAHS was joined at the event by other vendors, including Oceans Healthcare, Louisiana Center for Prevention Resources (LCPR) and O’Brien House.
CAHS Program Monitor Supervisor Yolanda Yancy, RPP, and Program Monitor Tamara Jones, PSIT, talked with attendees about CAHS’ services, the 988 Suicide Helpline, and the dangers of binge drinking and fentanyl.
