CAHS Prevention Team members Alicia Richbourg and Ricki Davis staffed the successful Back to School event, held Aug. 3 at the Church of God, 3135 Ozark St., in Baton Rouge.
The event brimmed with faith, enjoyment, and a sense of community as students, parents, and families came together to prepare for the upcoming school year.
Church of God First Lady Ernestine Dillard led the event along with community partners that included Baton Rouge Constable Terrica Williams, the East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority, Families Helping Families, Metro Health, Open Health Care Clinic, Aetna, Priority Care, the Louisiana Office of Public Health, Robin Bennet, Wellcare, and Ambetter.
The youth visited the various booths where they received giveaways, participated in activities, and enjoyed haircuts and hair styling, along with hair supplies.
The CAHS team distributed more than 100 bags, filled with essential school supplies, and provided information about the agency’s behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults. The CAHS team also distributed information about underage drinking, bullying, vaping, and more.
