CAHS staff members joined other agencies and organizations in the Ascension Parish Reentry Coalition’s Mental Health Awareness Walk and Community Outreach Event, held May 16, in Gonzales. The walk was designed to reach individuals and families in need of mental health support and resources. CAHS staff distributed resource packets to attendees, and provided helpful information about the mental health and addiction recovery services offered at CAHS’ Ascension Behavioral Health clinic, located at 1056 E. Worthey St., Suite B, in Gonzales. The CAHS team also treated attendees to vouchers for free Chick-fil-A food and distributed free kits of Narcan, the life-saving medication that reverses the effects of overdoses from opioids.
