Capital Area Human Services was proud to serve as a sponsor of the 2026 LDH Behavioral Health Symposium, held Sept. 9-11, at the Louisiana Department of Health headquarters in downtown Baton Rouge.
Nearly 500 people participated in educational workshops, networking, resource sharing, and meaningful conversations about the evolving field of behavioral health.
CAHS Executive Director Jan Laughinghouse, PhD, LCSW-BACS, LAC, CCS, gave remarks at the closing of the three-day symposium. Members of CAHS’ Prevention Team also hosted a resource table throughout the symposium, providing attendees with information about the agency’s services in the areas of behavioral health, prevention, addiction recovery, and developmental disabilities.
Presented in partnership with the Foundation for Wellness, the event included various presentations and breakout sessions designed to strengthen knowledge and encourage innovative approaches to behavioral health.
Among the highlighted topics were problem gambling prevention and awareness, as well as discussions about the role of artificial intelligence and how AI can be used as a beneficial tool within the behavioral health field.
