Prevention Coordinator Alicia Richbourg represented CAHS at the Love Heals Free Health Clinic, held June 15 at Southern University in Baton Rouge.
Richbourg visited with attendees about CAHS’ services and various prevention campaigns, including suicide prevention, alcohol and drug misuse, and medication safety. She also distributed 55 kits of Narcan, the opioid overdose-reversal medication.
More than 50 vendors participated in the event, which was designed to raise awareness about preventive care. Attendees received information about Medicare and Medicaid services and were encouraged to seek primary health care through doctors or health clinics to monitor their ongoing health.
The event also included free wellness checks, dental work, optometry services and pharmacy representatives who answered questions about medications.
