CAHS Prevention Coordinator Dawn Collins provided educational materials at the “Parent 411” event.

CAHS Prevention Coordinator Dawn Collins attended the “Parent 411” event, May 4, at the Art & Addiction Exhibit sponsored by West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen.

Collins distributed resources for parents of individuals who are struggling with substance misuse and addiction. The resources included Narcan kits (opioid overdose reversal agent), medication disposal bags, and educational materials about behavioral health and CAHS’ Addiction Recovery Services.

Ben Peabody (pictured above) was the event’s featured speaker, telling his story of addiction and recovery through his art. Peabody, a longtime supporter of CAHS’ services in the region, served on both the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board and the EBR Metro Council.
